Eastwood Towne Center

Environmental System

In collaboration with Brooke Gollan, we developed a comprehensive rebrand and environmental design system for Eastwood Towne Center. We focused on creating a modern, cohesive, and user-friendly way-finding experience that would overall enhance the environment and help with navigation. The project began with extensive research into existing signage, directory systems, environmental graphics, and navigation patterns in similar retail centers. We also visited the site to take photographs and assess the layout firsthand, ensuring our designs responded to real spatial and user needs.

Early in the process, we created numerous sketches to explore layout, hierarchy, and visual organization. Multiple in-class critiques provided feedback at key stages, helping us refine ideas and improve usability. From these iterations, we developed a full design system that included a refined color palette, updated typography, custom icons, new signage, a directory, and an improved layout system.

The final rebrand presents a unified, organized, and visually engaging brand identity that enhances navigation and overall visitor experience. By combining thoughtful environmental design, consistent visual language, and user-centered way-finding solutions, the project balances aesthetics and functionality while bringing a modern, cohesive identity to Eastwood Towne Center.
