Surface and Materiality

Product Design

This project involved designing decorative jars through a hands-on, iterative process. I began with sketches to explore layout, hierarchy, and motifs, then moved into digital explorations to refine composition, color, and hierarchy. Once the design was established, I translated it onto 3D jars using transfer paper for a sanded-glass effect and created cut-outs to test how the design would interact with the surface.

For the final pieces, I spray painted while masking areas, applied stickers for precise label placement, and used a vinyl cutter to create both the vine motif that guides the viewer’s eye and the RG logo. The result is a tactile, visually dynamic design that balances experimentation, craftsmanship, and cohesion
