Michigan Seed Cycle

I was tasked with creating an interactive learning experience for 4th and 5th-grade students, focused on engagement, exploration, and hands-on learning through a location-based educational interface.

I chose the Michigan State University Greenhouses as my site and developed a system featuring a wall-mounted display paired with a touch-enabled table. Students interact by selecting buttons, dragging elements, and triggering animations that mirror on the wall, creating a shared, immersive experience. The content focuses on the life cycle of plants in Michigan across seasonal changes, with a spring-based prototype developed as a proof of concept, designed to be intuitive and age-appropriate.

The process was grounded in research and user-centered design, including analysis of existing learning environments and student materials to better understand learning behaviors and preferences. Early concepts were tested through walkthroughs and surveys, with feedback used to refine the experience for clarity and engagement.
